More and more today, you see the term “mindfulness”. This is shorthand for one kind of “meditation”. There are as many different ways to meditate as there are yoga positions. Through breath and focus, meditation can be as simple as a five-minute exercise in stopping to acknowledge your surroundings. And it can be as complex as designing a particular goal and setting out a path to achieve it.
There are at least 10 scientifically demonstrated benefits to meditation, including reducing stress and anxiety, promoting emotional well-being and self-awareness, assists in regulating sleep, and a useful tool in battling addictions.
